Binding Covers - Part Three

by Jeffrey Zeimetz on 2007-01-09 09:43:25 - Email This

The clear cover is commonly used as the first page in a bound document so that the entire title page can be seen through it.  It serves to protect the document from wear, dirt, moisture and finger prints.

Clear CoversOur clear covers come in different thicknesses, also referred to as mil.  A 10 mil cover is considered heavyweight and is the most popular.  The 7 mil is medium weight followed by the lightweight 5 mil.

The different weights are a matter of preference and cost only.  The 10 mil gives the document a more substantial appearance.  The covers are made from acetate that will not lift (transfer) the underlying image from the title page.  Documents bound with this are more suitable for archiving.

We ship our covers without tissue sheets separating each cover to eliminate waste and facilitate quicker binding on punching and large volume runs.
